Halloween 2012 Corset Costume Designs: Contest Winner Michelle aka "Poison Ivy"

Here is one of our amazing and talented Orchard Corset Contest winners, Michelle J. She has finished her stunning corset costume..."Poison Ivy". Here is the rest of her photo journal. You can see part one in an earlier blog.

I took an old pair of open toed shoes and covered them in Ivy, as well as covering the toe so my stockings wouldn't show. Covering both shoes and trimming the edges took almost three hours!

My elbow length gloves were stretched over a glass (much easier to work with this way!) while I added leaves to the top. Behind them, I have started covering the bottom half of my costume in Ivy. I purchased a simple green leotard and stretched it over a form (to hold the fabric in place) while applying the leaves.

A few finishing touches to my shoes, and adding Orchids to my Ivy clutch.

The final product! I love how everything came together, and I had so much fun working on my Poison Ivy costume. A woman with a sewing needle and hot glue gun is a dangerous thing.

Thanks Orchard Corset!

Thank you Michelle for the inspiration! We would love to see what our other customers have come up with this Halloween. Post your corset costume photographs on our Facebook page...never too early to start planning for next year!
