Vedette Compression Shapewear: Sizing Tips and Reviews

Vedette Latex Compression Shapewear Vedette shapewear is a fan favorite of many customers at Orchard Corset. It is a very strong latex compression that comes in a variety of styles to fit any number of shaping or support needs and situations. Several style options provide great post-partum or post-surgical support, while others assure your wedding dress will fit perfectly. Compression Latex Shapewear is not for everyone-but those who love it REALLY LOVE IT! I tried and wore a couple of different styles to research and gather some valuable sizing and fitting tips. As always, our customers have provided us with some great feedback that I have included. First let's take a look at the Vedette 104/206 Bermuda Length Underbust Shaper. The Vedette Sizing Chart provides a pretty accurate guide for fitting Vedette, which tends to run on the small side. The greatest challenge is getting the garment on. Once in place, it provides great support and is quite comfortable. And it adds a layer of warmth in the wintertime, too! Here are some customer reviews of the Vedette 104/206: Must have for postpartum *****  Loranni from California 6.02.2010  This one is very effective at compressing your body in all the right places, not just your stomach. I've been using it postpartum and it really makes a huge difference. I chose the Bermuda because I wanted to target several areas of my body after having my third child. Helps correct diastasis and pushing your internal organs back in place too. I just bought a second one to wear because this suit does make you sweat and you will need two! It's very comfortable.  Vedette 104/206 Beige It gives me a beautiful body shape after having a baby!! ****Reina from Kent, WA 10.30.2010  I got the Vedette 104/206 two months ago. This bodysuit is affordable, the fabrics are high quality and after wearing it (and washing it) for two months it still provides me with strong compression in my belly, waist and thighs. I love it doesn't have zippers, makes it very comfortable and unnoticeable under my clothes. I did not give it a 5-star rating because the fabric that goes under the buttocks slips down; sometimes I need to pull it up. Vedette 104/206 Black LOVE! ***** Meagan from Port Jefferson Station, NY  9.27.2010   I bought the Vedette 104/206 Long Leg Bodysuit to shape myself for my wedding and the only thing I regret is not buying two! It creates a super smooth silhouette and is very comfortable. When I wear it, I sit straighter and walk taller and my butt looks a-mazing! That said, it is also amazingly difficult to put on. The first time I wore it, it took 20 minutes to get it on and I was a sweaty mess by the time I got everything in the right place. Vedette 104/206 Beige   I found the open-crotch design a huge bonus, as pulling this up and down is no easy task! A little talcum powder on the thighs is helpful. I generally have trouble with one-piece garments of any kind as I am long-waisted. I found the 3 different Vedette products I tried (105, 106 and 104/206) on to have plenty of length, so they are great for long-waisted people.  Which brings us to the very popular Vedette 105 All-in-One Slimming Body Briefer. I found this really to be quite comfortable, and I think I could wear this briefer in a small or medium depending on the level of compression I wanted. Plenty of torso room, and the built-in bralette was perfect with my bra underneath. Lots of room to accommodate large-breasted women (as did the 106). Avoid SURGERY! ***** Mimi from Coronado, CA 4.24.2012  I've Been Wearing this model of the strongest corset 24/7 for 8 YEARS for a BACK BRACE! I have a crooked back & the docs have wanted to do major rod surgery for years. The latex eventually stretches out & I get new ones for the firm support I need.I've been ordering about every 18 to 24 months & have 10 or so on hand always.  I Wash 3 or 4 at a time on delicate & hang to dry.   Get the proper size by measuring just under your bra. Vedette 105 Beige As I stated at the beginning, the Vedette Sizing Chart works pretty well, but I think the underbust measurements may need some adjusting. My measurements are: Underbust 30", Waist 27" and Hips 39". I tried both small (34) and medium (36) Vedette products. The smalls were more of a challenge to pull on, but was good snug fit once it was on. The medium went on easier, but not as much compression for me, and I imagine there would be a degree of stretching out as you break the garment in. Vedette also offers a variety of garments with front closures to make getting in easier. We will discuss some of those in a future blog!
